Once we have placed the key of willingness in the lock and have the door
ever so slightly open, we find that we can always open it some more.
Though self-will may slam it shut again, as it frequently does, it will
always respond the moment we again pick up the key of willingness.

Hi, I'm Wendi, Alcoholic. I came into AA willing to be rid of myself. Get that chick gone! I had to come to believe there was something that could change me. To become willing to turn my life over to a God of my understanding. Willing to get out of his way and accept the fact I could not run my own life. Willing to accept forgiveness for a life I had built around my own will. Willing to learn the difference between what was my will, and what was his. Willing to become the person God wants me to be, not what I think others want me to be. Willing to keep the best of what he gave me, and still give some Love away. Willing to accept what life has to offer. The good and the bad. It's not for me to understand it all. I just have to be willing to show up, and do God's will. Easier said than done. But working these simple steps and letting you all help me is finally working. Grateful to be alive for the first time, ever. Grateful for this program and all of you! Thanks!
