Fearless and Thorough
At some of these we balked. We thought we could find an easier, softer way.
But we could not. With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you to
be fearless and thorough from the very start. Some of us have tried to hold on
to our old ideas and the result was nil until we let go absolutely.

Hi, my name is Bryn and I am an alcoholic. I never let go to God till I was so severely beaten that I surrendered to God. At that moment I let go of everything I was feeling and most of all hatred. I hated everyone and everything in life and when I let it go, wow did I feel different. I worked the steps of AA and I was finally able to face myself, the devil/demons and God. I wanted to be in God's light and when I surrendered to God Himself, I was lifted out of the darkness and brought into the light. My eyes were opened from a deep, dark sleepened state I was in, to seeing light again. Now when I am in trouble I continually go to God and I ask for guidance. Guidance that I never received in life and guidance was what I needed to set me on the right path. In real life I was never guided. I was left to figure things out on my own and when I made bad choices, well it was hell for me especially when I was young and innocent. AA is a new way of life for me and a good one. I am sober now 5 months and 7 days and I cannot thank this program enough. And most of all I can thank God for this new life and I can face most challenges in life now than I could before.
