For it is only by accepting and solving our problems that we can
begin to get right with ourselves and with the world about us,
and with Him who presides over us all. Understanding is the key to
right principles and attitudes, and right action is the key to good living;
therefore the joy of good living is the theme of A.A.’s Twelfth Step.
- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, (Step Twelve) p. 125
Thought to Ponder

I'm Patrick and I'm an alcoholic. Acceptance to me is an action. If something is bothering me and eating my lunch, the solution, to me, is in the steps. I likely need to circle back to steps 4 and 5. If the resentment persists, I probably need to pray for the person/place/thing that I'm resentful toward. Early in recovery, meetings carried me through the first several weeks. At this point, it's my step work and my relationship with HP. I honestly thought 12 step recovery was about doing 12 steps and then being recovered. But I have to live them every day. It can be frustrating at times but it's what keeps me going. Thanks for letting me share.
