AA Thought for the Day

It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action
and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if
we do, for alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of
alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve
contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.

Thought to Ponder
The alcoholic is in no greater peril than when he takes sobriety for granted.

Hello all, my name is Jamie and I am an alcoholic. This is my second run at the whole deal. I don't regret going back out anymore than I regret coming back in. This time around I did all the steps with a sponsor and did all he said. I am still here almost 3 years later. Being an alcoholic in recovery makes me feel more like a ‘normal‘ person. I have the same trials and challenges in life. However the difference is, if I don't address my faults and failings, also my successes on a daily basis, I risk backsliding. I become removed and less normal. I over think and under speak and over judge and under forgive and before I know it the world is full of buttholes and I am one of them. Maintaining sobriety means owning my stuff. I am human. I am dealing with it with the help of you guys and this program.
