AA Thought for the Day

When we became alcoholics, crushed by a self-imposed
crisis we could not postpone or evade, we had to fearlessly
face the proposition that either God is everything or else
He is nothing. God either is, or He isn’t.
What was our choice to be?
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (We Agnostics) p. 53
Thought to Ponder
God seldom becomes a reality until God becomes a necessity.

Susan here, very grateful recovered alcoholic by God's Grace. I used to have a huge issue with the God word when I got here, and for quite some time afterward. I was hung up on old ideas from growing up, and didn't have much of an open mind at all. Thing is, now, I am so grateful that the BB hasn't changed to suit people like me. Although sometimes, it seems like the people in the rooms still try and encourage it, like using crazy ideas like doorknobs and calling God anything but God. I had to come to terms with the fact that either God is, or He isn't, and either He can do everything to fix me, or I remain living in self will. Until I made that decision and opened my mind to the possibility, this program didn't work for me. When I did, miracle upon miracle, I am a new person today. I am a firm believer in the message out of our BB as it has been proven to me. So either we take it as it is, or we don't. Grateful I finally did. Thanks and blessings.
