Daily Reprieve
We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily
reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.
Every day is a day when we must carry the vision
of God’s will into all of our activities.
"How can I best serve Thee—Thy will (not mine) be done."

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) p. 85

Thought to Ponder
Every day is a gift. That is why we call it the present.

Hello folks. Welcome if you are new to A.A. or are coming back to A.A. I'm Charlie J. and I have Alcoholism. Often when driving to a face to face meeting with my sponsor and a new man, I would take the back road. I did that because it passed a cemetery. I slowed down as I passed the cemetery and asked the new man this question, "What do you see out there?" The answers were a cemetery or head stones. I said, "Yes that's a fact but what is out there are people, many of whom thought they were going to have a tomorrow. They were wrong!" What I do today is what is of the utmost importance. Even if I do everything as near to perfect as I can today, it will not buy me a guarantee of one more day tomorrow. That's why I do my best today. So if your are new, work to keep the focus on your recovery, today. Sure you can make plans for tomorrow and beyond, I do and that's right to do. This sums it up for me. If I don't drink today I have a hope for a tomorrow. If I do drink today I will once again not even want a tomorrow. My Higher Power expects of me, only the best I can do today. Thanks.
