Key to the Future
We turned back to the list, for it held the key to the future. We were
prepared to look at it from an entirely different angle. We began to
see that the world and its people really dominated us. In that state,
the wrong-doing of others, fancied or real, had power to actually kill.
How could we escape?
We saw that these resentments must be mastered, but how?

Thought to Ponder
Clear vision for tomorrow comes only after a real look at yesterday.

Pammy, and I have alcoholism. When I first got to AA there was this old-timer that would say his name and add "I survived the things that never happened," before he shared. I would think, what a stupid thing to say. But once I got into working my steps, especially the 4th, I saw all the imagined wrongs I felt done to me. All those arguments I played out in my head that I saw left me feeling the victim. I see it now as my way of judging others and or misinterpreting them as a means to justify my ill reactions. Today I do a lot of double takes in making sure of what I hear or see. If something is said in way of a slur or insult, and my name isn't attached, then it's not mine to own so there is no need to react. It's a simple way to keep me free and content. Thank you.
