Third Step Prayer
Many of us said to our Maker, as we understood Him:
"God, I offer myself to Thee—to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt.
Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my
difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of
Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!"

My name is Tom and I'm an alcoholic. I remember back in the day at an AA conference when we all got up that morning and closed up holding hands in a circle and said the 3rd step prayer to start the day. Fantastic feeling for me. I could have never have completed my 4th step without that prayer. And with that experence I learned that the path to completing any step can be found in the step that precedes it. I say that prayer in the morning to start my day and things seem to just fall into place as a result. BUT, let me forget ... and here comes that "handbasket" again. Thank you for being here for me.
