If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed
before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a
new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) pp. 83 - 84
Thought to Ponder
We cannot find peace by avoiding life.

My name is Mark, very grateful alcoholic. And I never expected the effect, the amazing effect step 9 had. I was afraid. I was full of fear, and held back. But I did 4 - 9 and I will not ever regret that. I needed help. And what I remember best, is after I made the most difficult amend in the process, I walked out a free man. It needed DUCT-tape. A note in my pocket with my amends written down. Prayer. And more DUCT-tape. Accepting whatever reaction would come, sticking to my job. And a deep experience of STEP 1 came out! I didn't see that coming, before I was half way through. But that was what happened. Making those amends showed me clearly what alcoholism is and did in me as an alcoholic. I can't explain, but those who worked it know. And those who didn't yet, I invite you kindly to allow your life to be changed like you can never imagine. Thank You God, principles, and you all.
