AA Thought for the Day

It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action
and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if
we do, for alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of
alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve
contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.

I am Garth, alky. And I am closer or further away from a drink depending on my spiritual condition. One way I assess that is how much I laugh in a day. We are not a glum lot. When coming into the rooms for my first time I heard laughter and I had not laughed in a long time. It felt great! Another thing I remember about all this is; if I am discontent, taking someone else's inventory etc., I can STOP. And start my day over with a smile and a prayer.
