Step Five
We pocket our pride and go to it, illuminating every twist of character,
every dark cranny of the past. Once we have taken this step, withholding
nothing, we are delighted. We can look the world in the eye. We can be
alone at perfect peace and ease. Our fears fall from us. We begin to feel
the nearness of our Creator. We may have had certain spiritual beliefs,
but now we begin to have a spiritual experience.

Thought to Ponder
All of AA's suggestions are free. The ones I don't take

Morning all, awesome to be here. Welcome to anyone new! Susan, very grateful recovered alcoholic by God's Grace. I put off the 4th and 5th step for a long time. Many spoke negatively of it in the rooms I landed in. I don't recommend that to anyone now. As the result, I continued to hurt as well as hurting many around me. And then the day came, and I sat down with another alkie and did the 5th Step and something shifted in a very, very big way within me. I changed dramatically in a short time as the result of that experience. I don't even remember the details now...just that I became different in many regards. So now, I say GET EXCITED about the 4th and 5th Step! There is true freedom that begins to show up just on the other side. It's simple according to our BB and I attempt to guide it in that manner. To watch the shift that occurs in others today after a 5th step blows my mind every time. I say, we are doing this step in week one or two at the latest, but it is up to them if they follow through. I can only lead, I can not force. Love this journey and love the freedom available to anyone who does it. Blessings to all.
