Three Pertinent Ideas
Our description of the alcoholic, the chapter to the agnostic, and our
personal adventures before and after make clear three pertinent ideas:
(a) That we were alcoholic and could not manage our own lives.
(b) That probably no human power could have relieved our alcoholism.
(c) That God could and would if He were sought.

Thought to Ponder
I can't, God can, I'll ask Him to.

My name is Liz and I am a grateful, recovering alcoholic. The ABC's are read at each face to face I attend and have been since I've been in AA. What is sticking out for me is the C part. "That God could and would if He were sought." That says a lot to me. I tried getting sober different ways. I switched drinks, etc. I changed locations of drinking and towards the end, mostly drank at home. The bottle had become my friend because I was so lonely. By then I was working from home and hardly left the house. I was having anxiety attacks and agoraphobia. I was afraid to leave the house. Fast forward to now and it's the complete opposite. I love going out now. I travel alone which works out because I can do what I want. I feel free. Happy, Joyous and Free. So if you're new, stay for the miracle! Don't give up hope. You'll get there. Thanks.
