A Solution
There is a solution. Almost none of us liked the self-searching, the
leveling of our pride, the confession of shortcomings which the process
requires for its successful consummation. But we saw that it really worked
in others, and we had come to believe in the hopelessness and futility
of life as we had been living it. When, therefore, we were approached
by those in whom the problem had been solved, there was nothing left
for us but to pick up the simple kit of spiritual tools laid at our feet.

Thought to Ponder
The solution is simple. The solution is spiritual.

Mark, very grateful real alcoholic, recovered by the Grace of God. I remember I listened to a LOT of youtube A.A. speaker tapes in my first years. And I mean a lot! But, I remember one in particular. Bob D and Kerry C called "How the miracle happens." And Kerry opens, saying... She didn't know what alcoholism was about, she said she was alcoholic, but didn't know what it is to be alcoholic. Until, she read the Big Book in another way. Considering. Asking herself questions line by line, paragraph by paragraph. "Is this my experience?" Can I find this in my life? Did I feel this way, think this way, act this way?" And then things started to change for her. So I did this too. And in this paragraph, it says, Almost none of us liked the self-searching. Check. The leveling of our pride. Check. The confession of shortcomings. Check, don't like that either, indeed. But it's required it says. Oh, and those people who wrote this, saw how it worked in others. Check. Simple kit of spiritual tools. Okay. I needed to do it like this, or I didn't get it. And, amazing to see, everywhere it says what the program is in this book. In 'Bill's Story' already, and here again. This is why I believed I needed to work the steps. And today, I don't want to live any other way anymore. Never heard anyone who did it saying they regretted it. None. Thank You God, steps, traditions, concepts, and you all. There is a solution.
