Unthinking
We feel a man is unthinking when he says that sobriety is enough.
He is like the farmer who came up out of his cyclone cellar to find
his home ruined. To his wife, he remarked, "Don't see anything the
matter here, Ma. Ain't it grand the wind stopped blowin'?"

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) p. 82

Thought to Ponder
Sobriety without action is fantasy.

Hello all. My name is Jamie and I am an alcoholic. I was a slow learner...tried AA after rehab... lasted a while but never made it past step 4. Then drank some more, and some more. Tried not drinking for a while, then drank some more. Only when I was gifted with desperation did I throw down my guns and put up my hands. And then I gave in to this simple program. These days, life happens...frequently for real and not just inside my head. And I find that what is in my head is a damn sight closer to the reality outside. Thats a gift I would never have received without this program. Thanks all for being here.
