Lack of Power
Our human resources, as marshalled by the will, were not sufficient;
they failed utterly. Lack of power, that was our dilemma. We had to find
a power by which we could live, and it had to be a Power greater than
ourselves
. Obviously. But where and how were we to find this Power?
Well, that’s exactly what this book is about. Its main object is to enable
you to find a Power greater than yourself which will solve your problem.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (We Agnostics) p. 45

Thought to Ponder
Willpower ... our will-ingness to use a Higher Power.

Susan, very grateful recovered alcoholic by God's Grace. Yup, I qualify as a real alcoholic as well based on what our Big Book and the previous shares stated. A huge hurdle that one can come across is the idea that something outside of self is what caused them to become alcoholic in the first place. I mean, it had to be cause my parents didn't love me enough, or the right way, or maybe cause someone abused me, or maybe cause I didn't have lots of money. The list can go on and on. And I blamed my alcoholism on many things for many years. I no longer need to look outward as it is an inward deal. I lost power, control, mental defense, and choice of over booze... PERIOD. I needed a Power greater than me to save me. It has. Blessings to all in your journeys.
