A Basic Solution
We were having trouble with personal relationships, we couldn’t control
our emotional natures, we were a prey to misery and depression, we
couldn’t make a living, we had a feeling of uselessness, we were full of
fear, we were unhappy, we couldn’t seem to be of real help to other
people—was not a basic solution of these bedevilments more important
than whether we should see newsreels of lunar flight? Of course it was.

Thought to Ponder
If I always do what I've always done, I'll always get what I've always gotten.

Hi. Paul, alcoholic. This topic reminded me of a time a friend asked me a question. He asked why I only went to AA meetings, then he gave a litany of groups he attended for all his problems. I kept it simple. I told him someone once had told me that if I focused upon my alcoholism, all my other problems would be resolved over time. As I practice the steps and do the best I can each day, all the things that were problems do go away in time. I no long worry about them. Money issues, relationships etc do get better. They may not go away but how I deal with them improves. I know I cannot drink and to do that I need to turn it over to God each day. And so far he has done a better job with the problem than I ever did. Thank you.
