We perceive that only through utter defeat are we able to take
our first steps toward liberation and strength. Our admissions
of personal powerlessness finally turn out to be firm bedrock
upon which happy and purposeful lives may be built.

Thought to Ponder
The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.
WOW = Willingness Over Willpower.

Mark, grateful, real alcoholic. I am sober today, and for a while now, and grateful. But, I knew absolutely sure then, I would die if I would continue drinking. And same time, I was absolutely sure I would die if I quit. What a place to be in, terrible. It sure was. I needed to be completely done with what I was doing, that is for sure. And I needed to see, what I was trying to do, was never going to work. I drank against my will, and never did any of the things I tried work to control or stop. It was a mess, and that's what step 1 tells me, what powerlessness means to me. Alcohol dominated me, like a toy. And I had nothing to say about it, at all. I could not see I was sick, or that I was selfish, I had no idea. But once opening up to learn, I could start to find truth. Much needed truth. Grateful to be here, thank you God, principles, you all.
