Fellowship
Life will take on new meaning.
To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish,
to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends
-- this is an experience you must not miss.
We know you will not want to miss it.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 89

Thought to Ponder . . .

I’m Elaine W., an alcoholic. I firmly believe that the Fellowship of AA works. Thank you for the Daily Thought -- it helps my day to open my email and see it here. My Higher Power speaks through others in a meeting. This never fails me no matter what I am going through. I hear what I need -- sometimes even before opening my mouth. There are no coincidences. The supportive Fellowship brings me joy, happiness, and hope. I am no longer alone in this process. I am no longer unique in whatever experiences I am going through. There is hope in working the Twelve Steps and service work. Working with fellow alcoholics has saved my life. There is laughter; and the before- and after-meetings are just as important for me -- this is where we talk and really get to know each other over coffee and cookies. It is always nice to see the smiles of my fellow alcoholics and the warm welcomes. I enjoy watching the newcomers grow and begin to shine for the people they truly are. I believe there are many miracles in this Fellowship. I am grateful for my Home Group which has 21 meetings a week. I am grateful for the many area meetings and Fellowship activities. My AA family is my family more than my family of origin. I spent the holidays with them, and I had a great holiday season. With 18 years of continuous sobriety, I am no longer alone and isolated . I have my family of choice.
