Anger
If we were to live, we had to be free of anger.
The grouch and the sudden rage were not for us.
Anger is dubious luxury of normal men, but for us it is poison.

- As Bill Sees It, p. 5

Thought to Ponder . . .
Anger is the wind that blows out the light of reason.

AA-related 'Alconym' . . .
A A = A
void Anger.

I'm Erin, and I'm an alcoholic. This topic seems like a loaded one to me. I was lacking so many things when I came to AA -- peace, hope, confidence, stability, and the list goes on. About a month before I sobered up I had a moment where I was thinking about all the people I knew with good jobs, and running cars, they owned homes, and had saved money I'd only heard about. When I got here I was pretty broken. I was so angry. But with the help of God, I got a good sponsor, I started working the Steps, and I started to get some peace, hope, confidence, and a bit of stability. I stopped being so angry all the time. Now it just flares up. The best thing is when life happens, as it always seems to do, instead of going for a bottle, I can go for some AA. I have friends who I can reach out to that get it. They can keep a foot on my behind or give me a hug, depending on which I need more. I don't have to drink today, no matter how much I may want to. There's a better way out now. Thanks for letting me share.
