Promises
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us
what we could not do for ourselves.
Are these extravagant promises? We think not.
They are being fulfilled among us -- sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.
They will always materialize if we work for them.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 84

Hello, I'm an alcoholic named Joe. It’s great to see such compassion and care in here tonight. Even though I know it’s a "box" we are typing into, my sixth sense says it is very real -- I lived, and sometimes do live by that today. I don't believe what I hear and half of what I see -- emotions, feelings, compassion, and love are so irrational. I had a hard, hard, callous life, and to top that off, I self-destructed by a self-induced crisis to just try and cope. I was self-will run riot to extremes. I was acting normal to an abnormal situation. I was pouring the "number" all over what at times. I didn't know I was hurt. And you all said a thorough inventory. Well, it’s almost 25 years later, and I'm still growing. I did the absolute best in the beginning by ‘thine own self be true,’ and a lot of pain has allowed me to grow and grow and grow intuitively. So, how thorough was I in the beginning to get the sixth sense? Well, I'm still here, so it must have been the faith -- honest to self about keeping faith, and courageous facing and finding facts to the best I could and still do today. I love you guys, thanks.
