Came to Believe
I can't say upon what occasion or upon what day
I came to believe in a Power greater than myself,
but I certainly have that belief now. To acquire it, I had only to stop fighting
and practice the rest of AA's program as enthusiastically as I could.

Thought to Ponder . . .
I saw, I felt, I believed.

Hi, I’m Shawn, an alcoholic. Like most, I ran out of options when I came to AA. I already had tried all the stuff in the big book -- switching to beer only, etc., and saying I’m not going to drink today. But after I started AA the miracle began to happen. I would come here online and get to face-to-face meetings, too. I began writing Roman numerals on the side of my cabinet where my computer sits to mark off the days and weeks of my new sobriety. Today, it’s still there on the post-it note with about 6 weeks marked down. I look back and think, I must have thought this is working! I know I came to believe in AA because here I sit with some 4 1/2 plus years sober. So, thanks to AA and all of you for sharing your experience, strength and hope with me.
