Gratitude
Gratitude should go forward, rather than backward.
In other words, if you carry the message to still others,
you will be making the best possible repayment for the help given to you.

- As Bill Sees It, p. 29

Thought to Ponder . . .
Grateful is a feeling.  Gratitude is an action.

Hi all, l am Kevin, an alcoholic and a member of AA.  Today, the things l am grateful for are a lot different than what l was grateful for before l got sober.  The program of AA has taught me a lot.  When l came into these rooms l was a wrecked car.  I could barely stand.  But the Fellowship of AA has freely given me the tools to fix my wreckage.  And for that, l am grateful.  So today, instead of having a brand new shiny car, my wreckage has been fixed.  l am now a tow truck helping other alcoholics to fix their wreckage.  They say gratitude is a action word, and l become grateful by helping other people.  My Higher Power gives me serenity .. a feeling that is better than any feeling l ever got from alcohol.  And for this, l am truly grateful.  Thanks for letting me share.
