Peace of Mind
As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed peace of mind,
as we discovered we could face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence,
we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 63

Thought to Ponder . . .
Happiness and peace of mind are always here, open and free to anyone.

Hi, I'm Terri, an alcoholic and grateful to have peace of mind today.  I was told early in life by my grandmother, "You are hard-headed, and your road will be rough."  Hah! What did she know?  Then I became a drunk.  The road was paved to hell.  I came to AA, not willingly, and was given a copy of 'How It Works,' and read it every day in meetings.  Hmm .. something happened in my mind.  They call it "The Lifting of the Fog."  I thank God for a loving and caring sponsor.  She saw and felt this wounded soul, and said, "You can get better."  I cried.  God put someone there to help.  I did my Step work and things got better but not easier.  My husband was dying, I lost my job, but I didn't drink.  I worked the Steps and met God in each one.  l started sponsoring others.  We all came into the Light.  Today, I have that Peace that Passes All Understanding.  I thank God for AA and the Fellowship.  Newcomers, give your chance a chance, and Peace will come.
