Willingness
All we need is a key, and the decision to swing the door open.
There is only one key, and it is called willingness.
Once unlocked by willingness, the door opens almost of itself,
and looking through it, we shall see an inscription.
It reads: "This is the way to a faith that works."
- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, p. 34
Thought to Ponder . . .
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
and we never even know we have the key.
AA-related 'Alconym' . . .
W O W = Willingness Over Willpower.

Laurie here, still an alcoholic. My own willfulness is what held me back from letting God heal me and help me. I will always be an addict and an alcoholic, but my choices have changed. I finally found the willingness to not only let God into my life, but also willing to hand over my willpower. I am not great at keeping track of my willpower at all. I have to step outside of myself at times and just listen as well as take it in .. not let it go in one ear and out the other. I have to work at this every day. I am getting better at working this program, it has saved not just my life, but my soul as well. I am finding peace. It is such a humbling and exciting experience! I don't ever want to lose what I am still learning, and my willingness to do so is going to be my anchor to achieve my goal with God's help, of course. With that said, thank you for letting me share.
