Came To Believe
We found that as soon as we were able to lay aside prejudice
and express even a willingness to believe in a Power greater than ourselves, we commenced to get results,
even though it was impossible for any of us to fully define or comprehend that Power, which is God.

Thought to Ponder . . .

Hi everyone, I'm Adam, an alcoholic. I had a reason NOT to believe. I desperately wanted to continue to believe I was in control. If I surrendered and believed, it meant I wasn't in control, and there were things I'd been clinging to and hoping that I could get back, like relationships and material goods. If I surrendered control and accepted my Higher Power again, it meant two things: One, those things were gone and I'd have to accept that and move on, and Two, I had walked away from a Higher Power years ago. And those were also my choices. So, now I am back, newly sober, working on my Steps with a sponsor, and trying to follow directions. Thanks everyone.
