Forgiveness
“Under very trying conditions I have had, again and again, to forgive others – also myself.
Have you recently tried this?”
- As Bill Sees It, p. 268
Thought to Ponder . . .
To be forgiven we must forgive.

I’m Lance, an alcoholic. Yes, we alkies do have choices. We can steam and stew and blow hard, or we can stop digging a deeper hole for ourselves and learn to forgive. Forgiving others is easy, if we remember there are many sick people in the world, and we should treat them with kindness and respect. I don’t think I have much choice in the matter. I must forgive or do myself further harm. It’s a simple act to let go and, hopefully, we also let God. I agree it’s harder to forgive self, but ultimately we have to let go of those notions too that, somehow, we are sacrificing something by not honoring ourselves, too. I put on my resentment list me, because in some ways we are our own worst enemies. When we come to that peaceful spot in ourselves, the world is a much sunnier place to be … not wishing the day was over because of the strain of it all, but actually enjoying the whole process unfolding before us. Thanks for letting me share. I love you all in here and thanks for making such sense in this madness.
