Grace
As the body can fail its purpose for lack of nourishment, so can the soul.
We all need the light of God’s reality, the nourishment of His strength,
and the atmosphere of His grace.
To an amazing extent the facts of AA life confirm this ageless truth.

Thought to Ponder . . .
The will of God will never take me where the Grace of God will not protect me.

Hello Family, my name is Lance, and I AM an alcoholic! Very grateful to be here instead of the many places I could be. When I am in English-speaking meetings, people often say "because of the Grace of God, I am sober today," but here in Germany, they don't speak like this. It's a little more "My name is so and so, and I am an alcoholic." I like the reference to Grace, because without it, none of us would be here in this Fellowship. It takes the ego right out of the assumption "I got myself sober" and places the recognition with our Higher Power. It’s pretty easy to fall into this "my-life-was-a mess-and-then-I-sobered-myself-up" routine, when the real deal is the Obsession to drink was removed for me. I feel like there isn't one leaf that falls that God doesn't know about. And what I've found in sobriety is a very loving God. And that's manifest in the Grace that falls on each of us. It's a lucky thing I didn't get what I deserved when I sobered up. But He gave me what I could handle and what I needed, in perfect timing. Thank you for allowing me to share.
