Rough Going
This sometimes nearly drove me back to drink, but I soon found that
when all other measures failed, work with another alcoholic would
save the day. Many times I have gone to my old hospital in despair.
On talking to a man there, I would be amazingly lifted up and set on
my feet. It is a design for living that works in rough going.

I am an alcoholic and my name is Erik. Usually I don't give much thought to tough times anymore, unelss the topic comes up. For me, the toughest was when I first admitted defeat and called AA. That's about as bad as it has ever been for myself. A close second was about half way through sobriety when I stopped going to meetings for a while. But then at least I had some tools in my AA tool box and just knew it was time to call some one. And I did and gradually got back on track. Thinking about it, I'm sure I have some tough times to come. Both of my parents are in their 80's and we are close. And what ever else God has planned in my life ahead. But I don't worry about it because I've lived through some tough times and relied on AA and HP/God, and seen that things work out. I don't need to worry today about what might happen tomorow, it will just work out. Maybe not the way I want, but with you guys and some of my local AA friends around, it will just be okay. Thanks.
