Step Eight
“Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.”
Every A.A. has found that he can make little headway in this new adventure of living until he first backtracks
and really makes an accurate and unsparing survey of the human wreckage he has left in his wake.
To a degree, he has already done this when taking moral inventory, but now the time has come
when he ought to redouble his efforts to see how many people he has hurt, and in what ways.

Thought to Ponder
It is the beginning of the end of isolation from our fellows and from God.

Tom alcoholic. As was pointed out earlier, Step 8 is simply a list (nothing more nothing less) that is coupled with a willingness to take action in step 9. Many folks tend to over think this simple program and step 8 is a prime example of this happening..The "what if's" set in and we postpone, put off and procrastinate this vital part of recovery. As my sponsor told me...JUST DO IT, then we will worry about the action needed after you have your list. Oh, by the way, he said one thing I should do is leave the word APOLOGIZE outside because it will NOT be used or needed when the action begins. Nobody wants to hear your "I'm sorry" again.
