The Main Purpose
WE, OF Alcoholics Anonymous, are more than one hundred men and women
who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.
To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered is the main purpose of this book.
For them, we hope these pages will prove so convincing
that no further authentication will be necessary.

I'm Bobbie Jo and I'm an alcoholic. On my own, I can complicate a bowl of rice crispies. I used to do things the way I wanted to do them. I don't do that now if I can help it. The best suggestion I ever got in the rooms of AA was to do just what the Big Book says. Read....I read. Ask...I ask. Nothing more, nothing less and nothing extra. I used sheets for my step 4....that was before I knew I could just use pages 1 - 164. Read each sentence. Do just what our co-founders and first 100 noted to do. It keeps things simple and in AA. Thanks.
