Seventh Step
When ready, we say something like this: "My Creator, I am now willing
that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove
from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my
usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here,
to do your bidding. Amen."

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) p. 76

Thought to Ponder
If I want God to remove my character defects, I'll have to stop doing them.

Dennis, I'm alcoholic. I turned my will and life over to the care of God. I offered myself to Him to do with me as he willed. I ask to have those defects of character removed that are in the way of my usefulness to him and others. I bare witness to others of God's love, strength and power. It's not about me. It's about those I would serve. The only catch is, only my sobriety will allow those things to happen. So, I am here to stay sober so that God can find me useful. Thanks.
