AA Thought for the Day

First of all, we had to quit playing God. It didn’t work. Next, we decided that
hereafter in this drama of life, God was going to be our Director. He is the
Principal; we are his agents. He is the Father, and we are His children. Most
good ideas are simple, and this concept was the keystone of the new and
triumphant arch through which we passed to freedom. When we sincerely
took such a position, all sorts of remarkable things followed.

Thought to Ponder
Within our wonderful new world, we have found freedom from our fatal obsession.

Chris, Alcoholic. I cannot count all the freedoms that I have received by working the 12 steps in AA. And practicing the principles in all my affairs helps me to keep them. Might seem trivial, but for a few years in my early recovery I could not walk down the liquor aisle. Today alcohol has no temptation for me at all. It has been removed and will be as long as I stay in fit spiritual condition. All those promises on pages 84 and 85 of our Big Book are the freedoms I have received in AA. It is a miraculous program to be transformed to a human that is free, rather than remain one that is chained to alcoholism. Thanks.
