They Believe
The unselfishness of these men as we have come to know them,
the entire absence of profit motive, and their community spirit, is
indeed inspiring to one who has labored long and wearily in this
alcoholic field. They believe in themselves, and still more in the
Power which pulls chronic alcoholics back from the gates of death.

My name is Chris and I am an alcoholic! When I came to you guys I didn't think there was a solution. You welcomed me. You had laughter to fill the air. I couldn't laugh because I had nothing to laugh about I thought. The essence of just maybe there was something to this! You talked about surrender, finding a HP and all that was way too far off for me. You gave me some directions if I wanted to be a part of this fellowship. And now I can say, I came... I came to... And I came to believe. My sponsor held that light up for me and lit my candle. The steps were the design for living for drunks they told me. I worked, practiced and live the steps on a daily basis. My sponsor told me to Trust God, Clean House and Help Others. AA is the Best thing that could happen to this ex-drunk. You guys never lied to me. So glad HP gave you to me. Thanks for being here today!
