Three Pertinent Ideas
Our description of the alcoholic, the chapter to the agnostic, and our
personal adventures before and after make clear three pertinent ideas:
(a) That we were alcoholic and could not manage our own lives.
(b) That probably no human power could have relieved our alcoholism.
(c) That God could and would if He were sought.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (How It Works) p. 60

Thought to Ponder
I can't, God can, I'll ask Him to.

Pammy, and I have alcoholism. There was a time when I was falling, I cried the questions, How, when and most of all, why me? How could I have let this happen, when did this happen and of course the why did this happen to me. The answers to the first two became obvious to me and it came under one heading E.G.O (edging God out.) I let my head rule my life and gave no credit to the one that keeps me afloat all this time. In my opinion, I truly feel that's where the latter comes into play. Why not me? I have been stripped of ego and shown humility and saw that I never had control. I try hard not to ask questions of his will for me anymore but strive to be grateful I was given another chance to get closer to my HP. This was where I was able to ready myself for ... step 3 .. "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him." Something I cling to as much as I can today. Thank you.
