Principles Before Personalities
And finally, we of Alcoholics Anonymous believe that
the principle of anonymity has an immense spiritual
significance. It reminds us that we are to place principles
before personalities; that we are actually to practice a
genuine humility. This to the end that our great blessings
may never spoil us; that we shall forever live in thankful
contemplation of Him who presides over us all.

Hi all. Phillip, alcoholic. I'm more grateful for these meetings all the time. I was thinking about how easy it is to feel the "we" at the end of a large group event or even a large meeting when we all used to hold hands (before covid.) How people come back to the group to tell you how magical the conference was. I like to try and have that spirit flowing through me if I can. That is my higher power flowing through me. When that is happening I feel like I am on the right path of principles before personalities. I have known people who live that way, principles before personalities. The rare few and were not alcoholics, just good people. They have been examples for me long before I found AA and could live up to what I wanted to learn from them. Thank God I found this program and a way to become a person I can live with. Thank you.
