Grant Me Strength
"My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad.
I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which
stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength,
as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen." We have then completed
Step Seven. Now we need more action, without which we find that "Faith
without works is dead." Let’s look at Steps Eight and Nine.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) p. 76

Thought to Ponder
Faith makes the impossible possible.

Hi everyone, I'm Christi and I'm an alcoholic. I've been reading through Big Book for the second time. I feel like the first time I missed a lot because this time I'm getting so much more out of it. This prayer has become a regular prayer in my life. I hadn't realized that how giving control to my Higher Power could be so freeing. I remember telling my sponsor that I will do anything except for 2 people. She told me we'd cross that bridge when we got there. So as I continued with the steps I realized that at some point I forgave these two people. I also remember the fear I had about amends. But what I found was Higher Power went before me and paved the way for me to make my amends. These have been 2 monumental things in my recovery so far. Have been amazing blessings. I'm so grateful to be here.
