Dependence on God
When we developed still more, we discovered the best
possible source of emotional stability to be God Himself.
We found that dependence upon His perfect justice,
forgiveness, and love was healthy, and that it would work
where nothing else would.

- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, (Step Twelve) p. 116

Thought to Ponder
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us
what we could not do for ourselves.

Good morning all. Phillip, alcoholic. Grateful for all the shares today. I used to think I was cunning, baffling and powerful. I could always smell trouble coming and warn my friends. Thanks to alcohol that ended in isolation. God sent a friend of mine to kick in my door and slap a little sense into me. It took a while to sink in and then God sent another message. It was Alcoholics Anonymous. More sinking in time. Then the light of hope began to shine. Some days it was brighter than others. I began to meet people like you who had a light shining through them. I learned that was God. And God could do for me what I could not do for myself against this cunning, baffling and powerful foe. Learned to clean house, get on the right track, make amends (a lifelong process) and give back. Last night in the meeting a gal who just got out of jail was so happy that she got her first library card. She lit up the room. God is everywhere. Thank you all for being here today.
