Step Seven
The whole emphasis of Step Seven is on humility. It is really saying
to us that we now ought to be willing to try humility in seeking the
removal of our other shortcomings just as we did when we admitted
that we were powerless over alcohol, and came to believe that a
Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, (Step Seven) p. 76

Thought to Ponder
I can't. God can. I'll ask Him to.

Susan, very grateful recovered alcoholic by Grace. Ever said or thought to yourself, "I'm working on it"? It is one simple way for me to know whether I think I am still the Power or not. I know now that I can not change me. In fact, I don't even really know what needs to be changed in me. I just like to think I do. [laugh] Love the 7th Step prayer in our Big Book. Seems to sum it all up. What I also discovered is that I was going on a spiritual journey. Something I will find down the road until, in moments of time I realized I am already in it. The world of the Spirit. Smack dab in the middle. Don't so much need to look for it as be aware that I am already in it. I miss that often times. Such a cool journey. Continued Grace of awareness all.
