Amends
We have a list of all persons we have harmed and to whom we
are willing to make amends. We made it when we took inventory.
We subjected ourselves to a drastic self-appraisal. Now we go
out to our fellows and repair the damage done in the past.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, (Into Action) p. 76
Thought to Ponder
Don't mess up an amend with an excuse.

Good morning all, Garth, alky. I did steps 5 through my first amend in a 9 hour period which started with an old cowboy who made me get off my arse. He told me “I’m Sorry” should not be used. He said they had heard that 1000 times and it was a cop out. So my first amends was an easy financial amends to a lumberyard owner I had known for many years. He was forgiving and that made it better for me when sometimes other people were not so. What was and is important is to clean up my side of the street. Now with a daily step 10 my amends are mostly pretty minor. At 33 years without a drink and 81 belly button years it is now easy for me to admit I was wrong.
