Taken Action
Your candidate may give reasons why he need not follow all of the
program. He may rebel at the thought of a drastic housecleaning
which requires discussion with other people. Do not contradict such
views. Tell him you once felt as he does, but you doubt whether you
would have made much progress had you not taken action.

Thought to Ponder
Willingness to try something different

Good Morning All. I am Lou, an alcoholic. I was scared when I first got to the rooms. The first thing that got me was the act that everyone would think less of me because I was going to AA meetings. The second thing that hit me I would not be able to drink. I was hoping that once I got it under control I would be able to drink normally. Then they told me that I had to abstain from alcohol if I wanted to get better. YUCK! It took some time but I started to understand that these guys were on to something. Physically I started to feel better but it took some time before the mind and spirit began to get it. If it wasn't for a sponsor, all of you in the rooms I never would have found the God who I ask to be in charge of my life. For me getting sober was what He wanted all along. To develop a relationship with Him and all of you to get my life in order and be a functional person. Thanks for helping me find my way.
