Easy Does It

If a strong inner core of peace, patience, and contentment
looks at all desirable to you, it can be had.
Remind yourself once in a while maybe "Easy Does It"
is this day's ideal speed.
The change can start right now, remember?

Hi all, I'm Deb and I am an alcoholic. What is the difference is between patience and waiting before sobriety, and afterwards, now that the program is in my life? Before coming to AA, I would try to make happen whatever it was I wanted to come sooner, or to have more. I would tuck chin, and go full bore after what I wanted. Now, after having the program of AA in my life, I am "better" at being patient. Not great, but better. As some have mentioned, it's in God's time, not mine. Knowing that the God of my understanding will provide me with what I need, not necessarily what I want, in His time. One of the many gifts I receive is the calm while waiting; while being patient. That is not me. That is not my work, but His work. By the grace of God, the program of AA and the goodness of the Fellowship, I am sober today. Thank you for letting me share.
