Honesty
Only God can fully know what absolute honesty is.
Therefore, each of us has to conceive what this great ideal may be
-- to the best of our ability. Fallible as we all are,
it would be presumption to suppose
that we could ever really achieve absolute honesty.
The best we can do is to strive for a better quality of honesty.

I’m Jay, an alcoholic. Before I got sober 12 years ago, I was the head of service for the largest construction company in Las Vegas. I was pretty good at lying to myself for years. Once, they even tried to teach me how to lie, but I was already pretty good at that. We used our trucks for work. One day, I went into my truck and all my bottles were missing. I know I had my stashes, and at that point, I knew they knew, and they knew I knew. And that was the end of drinking. They cleaned me up, and I had to admit in front of the company that I was an alkie. I didn’t come to AA until 3 or so months sober. I got me a sponsor, a Big Book, worked the Steps, found a Home Group, did service -- all that stuff. So, I hope you have found what I did in here. Thanks for letting me share.
