"WE"
No society of men and women ever had a more urgent need for continuous effectiveness
and permanent unity.
We alcoholics see that we must work together and hang together,
else most of us will finally die alone.
- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 561
Thought to Ponder . . .
We can make a difference. Without you, there is no 'we.'
AA-related 'Alconym' . . .
W E = Walls Evaporate.

Hi everyone, I'm Keitha, and I'm an alcoholic. I am increasingly aware that I not only need this program, but I've come to be needed. That, like any commitment, scares the bejesus out of me. I have a bunch of resentments lined up to discard about being an alcoholic and this great Fellowship that I feel I now owe a bunch of my time and energy to. But, like all the other resentments I've had, all I have to do is talk about it, pray about it and, best of all, listen. Listen to my Higher Power, listen to all of you and that voice inside me that's a part of my HP and all of you in a way. Because it wouldn't have anything useful to say without the guidance I get from our group conscience -- that loving God that speaks through it. "WE" is the first word of the First Step. We are doing this together and I have to accept that. It shouldn't be hard since I've met some of the coolest people in these rooms. I just have to get past that need not to be labeled, and that wish to not be part of a group I used to judge so harshly. It's a "WE" program -- we help each other. Thanks for making it increasingly simple to let live.
