Turning Point
Remember that we deal with alcohol -- cunning, baffling, powerful!
Without help, it is too much for us.
But there is One who has all power -- that One is God.  May you find Him now!
Half measure availed us nothing.  We stood at the turning point.
We asked His care and protection with complete abandon.

Thought to Ponder . . .
We were at the jumping-off place.

I'm Kristina, an alcoholic.  I am so grateful for this program.  I always had God in my life, but booze was there too.  They did not mix.  I feared God and didn't trust Him.  Through this program, I now have a personal relationship with God.  I sought God and cried out for Him when nothing was left.  My family was gone, my house was gone because I couldn't pay for it myself without my family here.  I cried out to God, like they did in those old black-and-white alcoholic movies, "God Help Me!"  Hoping He would, knowing He wouldn't.  I was wrong.  And I thank God I was.  I was at the "jumping-off place" -- too afraid to live, too terrified to die.  And I wanted to.  I wanted the pain to stop.  I did nothing but pray and drink, drink and pray.  Something had to give.  I went online to find an AA meeting.  My dad had been in the program, but died drunk after being dry for many years -- suicide.  So I knew help was there.  I never regret my choice to come through those doors months ago.  I ask for help in the morning and give thanks all through the day.  God had done for me what I could not have done for myself, or any human power could have done.  I live in the stream of God's grace now.  Turning over every thing to Him.  I pray about everything and worry about nothing.  And for that, God bless God!  Thank you for listening.  My first time here.
