Willingness
The essence of all growth is a willingness to change for the better
and then an unremitting willingness to shoulder whatever responsibility this entails.

- As Bill Sees It, p. 115

Thought to Ponder . . .
What have I been given today
Am I willing to reach out and grasp it?

AA-related 'Alconym' . . .
W H O = Willingness, Honesty, Open-mindedness.

Hi all, Claudia here, an alcoholic.  Tomorrow is more than just a rumor to me .. it holds a promise; a reason for hope and growth.  But I cannot live in tomorrow or yesterday.  God grants me one day at a time to do with and be all that He calls me to be.  I cannot do or be that in my own strength.  Indeed, my flesh is weak, but in Him, I am strong for the good and pure things in life.  I have found that He allows things into my life to grow me and teach me.  Will I listen and learn?  That's where my willingness enters .. the choice: my way or God's ways.  The Big Book provides a roadmap to the abundant life that is possible.  Not one of us is terminally unique.  If something or someone is disturbing my peace, I must look at me.  I am the common denominator in all of my experiences.  God never promised me a stress-free or worry-free life.  What He did promise is to be with me through any and all things that enter into my life, and He has been more than faithful.  The key is my willingness to let it all play out in His way.  I must be in a state of being prepared.  I do my very best every day and throughout the day to give up control and outcomes .. to "let go and let God."  Thank you.
