Meditation
Aided by such instruction and example as we can find, it is essentially an individual adventure,
something which each one of us works out in his own way.
But its object is always the same:
to improve our conscious contact with God, with His grace, wisdom, and love.
And let's always remember that meditation is in reality intensely practical.
One of the first fruits is emotional balance.

I'm Jackie, an alcoholic. I shopped around for the "right" meditation method, as our Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions suggests we do as beginners in meditation. I've finally learned is there is no "right" way to meditate, and I've also found that the Higher Power will use other people, books, music, movies, every single form of communication ever invented by man, to get His message through. My main problem is getting the mind quiet enough to hear. And that's where measured breathing helps. I tend to focus on a clock with a rather loud tick, to keep unwanted thoughts out. Thank you.
