Living Sober
Somewhat to our surprise, staying sober turns out not to be the grim, wet-blanket experience we had expected!
While we were drinking, a life without alcohol seemed like no life at all.
But for most members of AA, living sober is really living -- a joyous experience.
We much prefer it to the troubles we had with drinking.

Good evening dear ones, Ellen here, alkie and blessed. It took a while for this concept to sink into my addled brain. I was just too excited with my new way of living. Then reality hit. What had I been doing to myself and those around me? For me, it wasn't so much missing the drink as it was how my life was changing. I was so clueless (denial), that after a while it became embarrassing. I learned about the tools of AA -- the two most important being the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions. They are absolutely essential in order to change and become the person God meant me to be. Thank you and God bless.
