Hope
Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins
when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope.

- Alcoholics Anonymous, p. xxii

Thought to Ponder . . .
Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.

I'm Deb, and I am an alcoholic.  In AA I found HOPE, and that is what we share when we tell about "us."  We all have had to get here with our own bottoms.  Our stories are different, but much the same.  Our lives were unmanageable, and self-centeredness ran amok.  We share what it was like, and what it's like now, and how we got there.  And when we do that, we pass along the hope for the new person or the one returning.  If I had not seen hope when I first came I would not have stayed.  But there is hope, and you all shared that with me along with the solution.  We have a new way to live if we choose to do what those before us did.  It just amazes me how simple it is.  And I am blessed to be here with all of you.  Share yourself with the 'newbie' and pass along that first glimpse of HOPE that they, too, can live a sober life.  By the grace of God, the program of AA, and the goodness of the Fellowship, I am sober today.  Wheeee!  I love you all.

Thanks to all of you for sharing so generously of your experience, strength and hope in carrying the AA message.
Blessings in sobriety to all,
In love and service,
