Making Amends
Do we lay the matter before our sponsor or spiritual adviser, earnestly asking
God’s help and guidance—meanwhile resolving to do the right thing when it becomes clear,
cost what it may? Of course, there is no pat answer which can fit all such dilemmas.
But all of them do require a complete willingness to make amends
as fast and as far as may be possible in a given set of conditions.

My name is Hope, an alkie. There is one feature of making amends that I've come to value. It turns out for me that financial amends are the easiest ones. Material amends and spiritual amends came for me from praying for them each to have what I would want for myself. That was my path to willingness. The feature I mentioned is to listen to them without defending myself, to give them each respect, to hear them out...humbly. Many times, that's what turned out to be the mending of the relationship. Thank you.
