Online AA

Taking advantage of technological advances, for example,
AA members with computers can participate in meetings online,
sharing with fellow alcoholics across the country or around the world.
In any meeting, anywhere, AA’s share experience, strength, and hope with each other,
in order to stay sober and help other alcoholics.

I'm Pammy, and I have alcoholism.  I must admit that sometimes I feel just a little break from alcoholism would be nice.  Not to drink, but a little break from reality.  But I know it brings me one elbow away from picking up.  So, no vacation for Pammy's disease on that score if I want to keep this new life going, and I do.  Instead, I come to our AA chatroom a lot online.  And when I do, I often hear something I'd never heard before; it perks me up and I get greedy and need to know more.  It fascinates me, and I need to stay lucid and focused to share what I learn with others.  I've been getting involved with the Twelve Traditions and learning how to understand The Twelve Concepts...it's gobsmacking, but I can't stop reading it all.  I don't totally understand it yet, but Yay! I have something new to me to talk about with others.  It comes in handy because I don't often sleep well, so I use that time to learn instead of getting depressed about my sleep habits.  And I always have someone here to talk to.  Obsession to drink is way down the list of things that enter my head and if it weren't for the new things I learn here, I wouldn’t be so sure of it.  So thank you all for the topics you give me to search and keep me sober.  Thank you.
